| This has been a totally crazy week. But it's also been a great week. On Monday and Tuesday we had the B.A.M. Service Retreat. I put together a book for the kids that went over great. We learned the difference between a servant and a bond servant, found examples in the Bible, and applied it to our lives. We also had a service project, which was cleaning up the church so that it might sell. That was a bigger undertaking than I had thought it would be. The fun didn't stop there...we also played games, at food, and painted our room. There seems to be some things to overcome concerning the room, but it looks great. One end is this nice cream color called something Toast and with one of the walls painted a Roasted Tomato. The crazy thing is that the roasted tomato is exactly the same color as a Dr. Pepper label. Pure accident, I promise. The rest of the room is all painted black with graffiti on it in blue, green, and orange that answers the statement, "God is..."
On Wednesday my friend, Colin, gave his testimony to the youth group and we worked on the walls a little more. It is amazing what Colin has gone through since High School and where God has brought him now. Yesterday was running day and then today it's back to work. The good thing is that Colin is coming over to dinner. Should be great to really reconnect with my friend.

| So yesterday was a little rough. It is amazing how easily one thing can blow your whole afternoon. However the good thing is that it was only a few hours in the afternoon that really bugged me. My morning was good, though it was also really short, and my evening was pretty good too. I got to spend some time with an old friend.
I must admit that my concern about our new president has been well founded. We are only a few days into his new term and he has already done some things that I find to be terrible. You may not agree, but that is where I stand. I don't want this to any way look as though I am not supporting him...he is our president and deserves our respect, but I can still have my opinion about if what he is doing in right or wrong. For all of those who disagreed with Bush's decisions can see where I am coming from.
Anyways, on to a more positive subject. Amelia is now over a month old. If anyone can find out where that month went, let me know. She is as adorable as ever. When her hair is wet it curls. Elizabeth had a dream that she would have curly hair and blue eyes...maybe I should ask her for the winning lottery numbers. Just like myself and Elaina, her hair, though almost black when born, is lightening up.
My job is still going well. Last weekend we had our first lock-in which I believe was a great success. We are planning a Mystery Dinner for Valentine's day, so if you don't already have plans, please come support us. The dinner is $20 a couple or $10 for a single. It also includes a movie. Not a bad Date Night, eh? Then at the end of the month we are headed to WinterJam. It looks like we will be having a three day retreat in March over spring break. Should be exciting.
I guess that's it for now. Mia is about done eating and we are all going to head into town for the day. Take care everyone and remember my favorite verse this week:
"For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind." -2 Timothy 1:7

| Good morning Viet....Everyone!!!
I hope that this post finds everyone doing well in the new year. Overall things are going great for my family. On December 22nd, at 3:32pm, Amelia Hope was born. She was 7lb 8oz and 20in. Needless to say, I have been busy helping E. out with both girls.
The job is going great. Not only do I have the greatest youth group, but I have an awesome office. The week before Amelia was born I finally got moved into my office. It really feels weird to have an actual office in a church.
Anyways, I really don't have a lot to say this morning. Just thought I would update and wish everyone a happy new year.

| The day began with a blanket of the whitest snow I've seen in a while. Snow in Hutch, at least right on Ave. A, was always brown and disgusting, usually filled with the random spattering of beer cans. However, the snow this morning was unspoiled. I began my day by heading over to the church and working on my office some more. The only real big thing to do now is hanging my posters and my airplane picture. After a quick lunch it was off to the midwife's place. It seems that if the baby doesn't come before hand, we will be having this baby on Monday. E. is a little worried, because there is a very, very good chance that we won't make it until then.
Tomorrow is our Youth groups Christmas Party, then Sunday is the big production. Everyone seemed to really love the set and lights are almost finished. It feels weird working with small 110w lights after so long. On Saturday my friends Janna and Dennis are getting married (check out all the double letters jaNNAAnDDeNNis). And on Friday I am Christmas Caroling. We even have something planned now for Thursday. I guess that we will not be slowing down until after this baby is here.
BTW if anyone is interested the show, The Glorious Impossible, is this Sunday, December 21st, at 10:45am at Praise Assembly of God, 321 S. Derby, Derby, KS and it's free!!!

| Alright, I am doing well so far. This will be the second blog in only a few days. Today I finally got to build another theatre set. It's been so long and the withdrawals were overwhelming. However, with a Christmas production only two weeks away at my new place of employment, and me with the most set design experience, I had to get it done. Bummer! The set was simple, just a carpenter's shop, but what made it difficult was the fact that most of the old props and set pieces the church used to have were MIA. I'm pretty proud of the outcome, but could not have done it without my very beautiful, and very pregnant wife...and my mother-in-law. The great thing about mother-in-laws is that if you are working really hard on a project, they like to take you out for lunch. I love PIZZA!!! So anyways, I will try to get some pictures up soon. The set is really not that much to look at, but yet for all it's simplicity and the lack of recent experience, I think it came out all right.
